On Sunday 7th and Monday 8th I had live cooking demos at Rheged on the Cumbria Life Food and drink Festival.

I made gravadlax of salmon, with Dijon mustard dressing,
Brown shrimps in lemon Cups Glazed with keldthwaite gold cheese,
Wasdale lamb rack roasted with balsamic syrup,
Pickled herring fillets with Howbarrow farm rocket and Loveage.

I was as always first on and I really had set the standard for the day’s demos.
Because of the Swedish theme to some of my dishes I was announced onstage by Keith Richards who is the editor of Cumbria Life Magazine and as I took the stage they blasted out “Dancing Queen “By ABBA.

It was a great weekend and the festival went especially well.

Then on the 7th and 8th I was at Lucy’s Cookery School with Anthony Worrall Thompson and Paul Rankin Filming for “ The Peoples Cookbook “ programme for UK TV FOOD on SKY TV.
The cookery school changed from its normal look to a complete film studio in a matter of hours,

It was great to be involved in the production and appearance of the show as Anthony and Paul are true celebrities, who really know how to have a good laugh.

They are back on Monday 14th for another 4 day’s of filming and I’m sure I’ll enjoy every minute of it.

So see ya at the Oscars,

Nick….
