UNBELIEVABLE is the word to describe United's last-gasp victory over our beloved Merseyside friends, Liverpool.
The elation when John O'Shea skillfully hammered the ball into the roof of the net at the kop end reminded me of some of the glorious scousebusting games of yesteryear, in particular, the FA Cup match in 1999 when, after being behind for 84 minutes, Yorke equalised and Solksjaer won the game.
Or when Gordon Strachan equalised at the kop end in the superb 3-3 draw in 1988.
But I have to admit United were so lucky to win on Saturday. I felt it was fairly equal in the first half, almost like a game of chess, but in the second half, for some reason United backed off Liverpool and let them play. We did a similar thing against Chelsea at home and against Arsenal, home and away, earlier this season.
Giving sides too much respect and letting them play rather than taking the game to them is something I can never fathom.
It was tough to watch because I believe we are a superb attacking team, and we didn't seem to want to attack.
But somehow we won.
It's a cliche, but the best teams always win the games they don't deserve to.
I still don't know if we can win the league, but Saturday's victory was one of those occasions that makes you believe you can do anything, and I hope that is the way the players feel. I hope they believe.
