Work has started on a section of road near Kendal, which is expected to remain closed for over a week.

A part of the C5071 at Natland has been closed whilst works are carried out.

(Image: Cumbria Road Watch) The work started on Monday December 2 and is anticipated to last up to 10 days, ending on Friday December 13.

The road is closed from its junction with the U5656, extending in a north easterly direction to its junction with St Marks Fold.

Access for Emergency Vehicles will not be maintained for the duration of these works.

Suggested alternative routes include travelling via the unrestricted sections of the C5071, B6385, A65, Burton Road and Natland Road.
