A series of events in the Lake District are recreating what the festive season would have been like for the Wordsworths.
A 'Regency Christmas' is being hosted by Dove Cottage in Grasmere and will run until Saturday, January 4.
The doors of Dove Cottage will be open from 10am until 4pm every Tuesday to Saturday to let visitors have a taste of Christmas traditions from the 1800s.
With tours taking place throughout the day, the final one at 3.20pm will be done by candlelight to add to the serene atmosphere.
The event organisers said: "The mantlepieces are garlanded with holly and ivy, clove-studded pomanders fill the air with the scent of oranges and spices, and a warm fire is crackling in the hearth.
"Immerse yourself in the cosy, festive atmosphere of this charming cottage, and imagine the Wordsworths celebrating the season together."
