A Cumbrian law firm has seen a surge in demand for its new service following the Autumn budget.
Burnetts Solicitors LLP, with offices in Carlisle, Cockermouth, and Kendal, launched its Wealth and Succession Planning service in January.
Following the Autumn budget announcements on October 30, the firm has reported an increase in demand as clients look to review their affairs.
Richard Miller, chairman of Burnetts and lead partner within the Wealth and Succession Planning service, said: "We had already identified a gap in the market whereby family businesses needed practical and solutions-focused advice from their solicitors in respect of their plans for the future of the business.
"The changes to inheritance tax reliefs on agricultural and commercial property assets set out within the Budget have now intensified the need for this focus and we are well placed to look after our clients by ensuring that their current circumstances are fully evaluated, before setting out the options for changes to be made.
"The feedback from clients so far has been extremely positive."
The Wealth and Succession Planning service is managed by Mr Miller, along with tax and estate planning specialists, corporate law experts, and a family law team.
The team provides a bespoke service to help clients prepare for the transfer of their wealth in a tax-efficient and protected manner.
