An independent bookshop in Pooley Bridge is hosting a pre-Christmas music and storytelling event.
Verey Books will welcome punters to the event on Wednesday, December 18, at 7.30pm.
Local musicians, The Clifford Movement, will be performing stories inspired by the lives of people from Cumbria’s paste.
The group will present stories, songs, prose, and visual projections celebrating the lives and landscape of the Eden Valley, along with a few tales from farther afield.
Their music includes melodies and ballads of Americana, Trad Jazz, Dark Cabaret, and Balkan tunes.
Al, Verey Books owner, said: "What a lovely way to mark the festive season.
"This event promises an evening out of the seasonal madness – a moment to sit back and soak up some good old live music and tale-telling for the festive season.
"We hope to see many of our regulars at what promises to be a lively evening."
Tickets cost £15 and can be booked at vereybooks.co.uk.
Verey Books is located in Pooley Bridge, Ullswater.
The shop is open daily seven days a week from 10am – 5pm.
Walking boots, bikes, and book-curious children and dogs are welcome.
