Barrow man caused serious injury by dangerous driving - JAILED
A590:A MAN will likely lose his job working for the Ministry of Defence after he was jailed for causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Preston Crown Court heard Lewis Uren, of Hawcoat Lane, Barrow, was driving his Volkswagen Polo on the A590 eastbound last year when he caused a ‘serious’ road traffic accident with one passenger on board, Preston Crown Court.

Barrow man jailed after defecating in Cumbria Constabulary police cell
A MAN has been jailed for defecating in a police cell.
Josh Webster, of Brown Street, jail admitted the offence under the Criminal Damage Act 1971 at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on November 6.

Barrow man jailed after breaching restraining order for second time
A MAN has been jailed after he deliberately breached a restraining order imposed by a court for a second time.
Eion McPoland, of Buccleuch Street, Barrow, without reasonable excuse was in the company of the complainant at her home address, which he was prohibited from doing by a restraining order imposed by Preston Crown Court on December 1 last year.

Former Cumbria police worker jailed for sex offences
A FORMER Cumbria police worker previously jailed for sharing illegal images of children being sexually abused has been handed another lengthy prison sentence for similar crimes — and again branded a dangerous offender.
David Robinson, now aged 56, was punished in 2015 for possessing and distributing indecent photographs of youngsters.

Ulverston man threatened to kill his wife after learning of affair
A MAN has been jailed for threatening to kill his wife after he discovered that she had an affair while he was serving a prison sentence, a court heard.
Prosecutor Lee Dacre said Kieron Burke sent his wife voice messages on WhatsApp saying: ‘I am going to kill you, when I get hold of you, I am absolutely going to kill you’.

Dalton man threatened to stab and burn neighbour’s house down – jailed
A ‘UNPREDICTABLE’ man has been jailed after he threatened to stab his neighbour and burn his house down, a court heard.
Adam Harvey, of Cambridge Court, Dalton, caused his neighbour to feel ‘constantly on edge’ as a result of his ‘prolonged and persistent’ actions, prosecutor Lee Dacre said.

Greek national caught trying to sell cocaine inA GREEK national who ran out of money while on holiday in the UK turned to supplying Class A drugs to pay for a ticket home, a court heard.
Konstantinos Kalpaxis was jailed at Preston Crown Court after admitting charges of possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of cocaine.

Darren Richmond jailed for 16 years for multiple child sex offences
A 'PREDATOR' has been jailed after admitting nine child sexual offences.
Darren Richmond, from Barrow, pleaded guilty to charges brought against him at an earlier hearing which included charges of rape and attempting to sexually communicate with a child.

Ulverston robber stole cash after threatening shop worker with ammonia
A ‘VERY haphazard’ robber who stole cash after threatening to throw ammonia at a shop worker has been jailed.
Nathan Cooper, of Bay Tree Road, Ulverston, pleaded guilty to robbery, attempted robbery and having a corrosive substance in a public place and was sentenced at Preston Crown Court.

Barrow predator caused ‘indescribable pain and suffering’ to child
A ‘MANIPULATIVE and abusive’ predator sexually assaulted a child over 100 times making her feel like she would ‘never be normal again’, a court heard.
Darren Richmond, from Barrow, was jailed at Preston Crown Court on November 25 after admitting nine child sexual offences - including two charges of rape.
