Drivers in and around South Cumbria will have several National Highways roadworks to watch out for this week.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• A590, from 7.30am November 4 to 6.30pm December 2, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A590 northbound and southbound, Lightburn Road, Swarthmoor, traffic signals and lane closure for gas mains replacement.
And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M6, from 7am November 28 to 7pm November 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, Burton Services to junction 36, Lane one closure for communications works.
• A590, from 9.30am to 3.30pm on December 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound, Ulverston Road, Swarthmoor, traffic signals for tree reduction.
• A590, from 7pm December 3 to 5am December 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Newlands, traffic Lights for Fibrus works.
• A590, from 11.30am to 3.30pm on December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound, Ulverston Road, traffic signals for UU works.
• A590, from 8pm December 9 to 3.30pm December 10, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Meathop Roundabout to Levens Lane, carriageway closure for movement of a sensitive special abnormal load.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
