A guest house in Windermere has won two awards.

Wheatlands Lodge was named the Guest House of the Year 2024 and received the Best Guest Experience Award 2024 from the Prestige Business Awards.

The awards recognise the service and guest experiences provided by owners Mike and Lynn, and their team.

The judges at the Prestige Business Awards were impressed by the performance of Wheatlands Lodge in 2024, which garnered more than 1,000 positive guest reviews.

Guests frequently highlight the service provided by Mike and Lynn, the room décor, and the breakfasts.

The guesthouse's location, a short walk from local shops and attractions, also adds to its appeal.

Wheatlands Lodge also offers personalised services for weddings, wedding vow renewals, and commitment ceremonies.

The guest house is a licensed wedding venue and Mike is also a trained celebrant.

The couple focus on staying fit to keep up with the demands of running their business

Their dog, Alfie, a rough collie, is well-known around Windermere, often greeting guests and neighbors warmly.

Mike and Lynn credit their commitment to the business for its continued growth and success.

The couple has received more than 76 personal thank you cards from guests, many of which are displayed in the lodge's reception area.
