Ulverston's Dickensian Christmas Festival will be going ahead despite the weekend's weather forecast.
Storm Bert is expected to bring wind, rain and snow to Cumbria over the weekend.
The Dickensian Festival, a highlight of Ulverston's calendar due to attract thousands on Saturday and Sunday, will still be on.
Organisers said on Friday: "For those enquiring if the festival is going ahead with the forecast weather for this weekend the answer is yes.
"The committee is busy making their final preparations with the weather in mind.
"Individual traders and attractions will make their own assessments on the day."
The town's Christmas lights switch-on is scheduled for 4pm on Saturday.
