PLANS have been lodged to convert a Lake District guest house into a single holiday let or a single permanent home.
Mr and Mrs Tritton have submitted a planning application to the Lake District National Park Authority to convert Haisthorpe House in Windermere from a guest house into a self-catering holiday let or permanent dwelling.
The guest house, on Holly Road, currently consists of six letting rooms and owners’ accommodation.
Planning documents state: “The loss of Haisthorpe as a guest house would not have a detrimental impact on the provision of tourist accommodation in the local area as there are a significant number of bed and breakfasts, guest houses and hotels in Windermere and Bowness.
“A different form of holiday accommodation, as well as the alternative permanent residential occupation use, should be acceptable.”
This application is currently under consideration by the LDNPA.
