A TEENAGER has been sentenced in court after he was caught driving while over twice the legal alcohol limit on the A590.
Harvey Gibbons-Rossall, of Birchwood Drive, Ulverston, admitted the offence at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on November 18.
The 18-year-old was driving a Volkswagen Lupo on the A590 at Three Bridges with 93 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
The legal drink driving limit set by the Government is 35 microgrammes.
Magistrates took into consideration the defendant’s mitigation and early guilty plea before imposing a 12-month disqualification – reduced by a period of 12 weeks if an accredited drink driving course was completed successfully.
He was also fined £228 and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £91 surcharge.
