Lili Myers has opened up about life after Dave and how the fan community has helped her though the loss.

The wife of the beloved Hairy Biker was speaking in an online interview on Thursday night (November 14) which invited members of the public to pose questions to her.

Throughout the 90 minutes, Lili discussed her relationship with Dave, the time shortly after his passing, the power of Dave Day, and her own career.

She said: "When a person dies - and I was there and I held his hand -  I could see the instant change, where the material is there, the body is there, but the energy is not anymore.

"That energy goes somewhere and I wanted to use that energy, I wanted to continue with that, I wanted him to live through that energy and do things that he would have loved to do.

"Continue doing stuff that he planned to do, with the same happiness and zest for life that he was always teaching me to do."

One way in which Lili has been able to keep that energy alive is through Dave Day, which took place in Barrow on June 8.

An estimated 46,000 motorbike enthusiasts travelled from London to Cumbria to pay tribute to the TV chef, with plans now confirmed for a repeat event next year.

"After he [Dave] passed, there were so many messages that were sent to me and I must say, I read every one of them," Lili added.

"We just came up with Dave Day and we had eight weeks to organise it, and it was something that we never expected to happen.

"It was something unbelievable - we had people on every bridge [along the route] and it was so touching.

"It was such an amazing outpouring of love and camaraderie, the biking community were amazing, and Barrow-in-Furness - I can't express the gratitude for what happened."
