A group of men from Kendal have proved that age is just a number after picking up a surprise win at a national competition.
The South Lakes Curling League started once again at Lockerbie Ice Rink in Scotland at the end of last month, with the Kentside Probus team taking on last year's runners-up 'The Nomads'.

Having had a winless season in 2023, Kentside were 'delighted' to claim the unexpected victory in their first match of this year’s competition by nine points to three.
Made up of retired professionals, Kentside edged out a tight contest, with four points towards the end sealing the win in the end.

Skipper Keith Barrett welcomed new recruit, Mike Trelogan, by saying: “It was great to have Mike joining us and not only inspire us to our first win but also lower the average age of the team below 80!"
