A new home interiors and renovation event is set to launch next spring in Cumbria, and there will be an appearance from two 'media stars'.
Vicky Grubb and Ray Clarke, known for their appearances on BBC’s Money for Nothing and the Discovery Channel’s Salvage Hunters: The Restorers, will bring their new podcast ‘Sit on This’ to the Home Interiors and Renovation Exhibition (HIRE Cumbria).
The event will take place at The Swan Hotel and Spa, Newby Bridge, on Friday, March 21, and Saturday, March 22.
The event will showcase a range of independent businesses and artisan craftsmanship within Cumbria.
Visitors can attend talks, demos, and workshops designed to inspire and motivate them in their projects.
Rachel Cabble of Cable & Blake, Kendal, and Amanda Holmes of Frank Holmes Fine Décor, is organising the event.
The pair met in 2018 when both of their companies exhibited at the former Cumbria Life Home and Garden Show.
Mrs Holmes said: "We at Frank Holmes Fine Décor have exhibited at several trade shows across the UK but we noted that there is no such show dedicated to home interiors within Cumbria.
"This is remarkable given how many extremely talented people there are within this region, many of whom are producing one-of-a-kind products or services.
"We decided to create a platform to highlight the incredible talent in our region."
Frank Holmes, owner of Frank Holmes Fine Décor, said: "Design, innovation, and renovation are at the forefront of many homeowners’ minds.
"They seek inspiration to add character, individuality, and personality to their homes yet many don’t know where to begin.
"The Home Interiors and Renovation Exhibition discerning homeowners in our region will see that they can find inspiration and advice for renovating and styling their homes without the need to visit shops in Manchester or London."
The event will feature a range of exhibitors including Brad O’Leary, a Lake District property renovator who specialises in lime plaster, Jo Vincent Glass Studio, Kendal, IKan Kitchens, Endmoor, MOS Furniture Design, Keswick, Ashdown Jones Lakes and Dales estate agents, Windermere, and Whitemore & Thwaytes Interiors, Penrith.
Ms Cabble said: "We are thrilled at the response we have from exhibitors already and to have secured the Swan Hotel and Spa as our venue.
"We are also excited to have Vicky and Ray with us."
Those interested can pre-register for free tickets to the event.
