A campervan tour is aiming to raise awareness of fostering across Cumbria.

The tour is being run by Foster with Us, a support hub for Cumberland and Westmorland & Furness Councils.

The initiative hopes to inspire more people to consider fostering, offering a chance to learn about the impact it can have on the lives of vulnerable children.

The team, comprising Christine, Ruth, and Becky, will travel around Cumbria in a campervan donated by Wild Camper Trucks.

They will provide information on fostering, answer queries, and offer insight into the role of a foster carer.

The tour will stop at various locations including Kendal Leisure Centre, Penrith Leisure Centre, The Sands Centre in Carlisle, and Maryport Community Centre on November 14.

On Friday, November 15, they will visit locations such as Workington Leisure Centre, Whitehaven Sports Centre, and Millom Recreation Centre, before heading to Barrow Forum Theatre.

The journey will conclude with a charity walk at Loughrigg Fell on Friday, November 15.

The walk is open to the public and will be attended by the wider Foster with Us team and council members.

With a growing number of children entering the care system in Cumbria, the need for foster carers has never been greater.

The councils are urging the community to provide support by offering stable, loving homes to these children.

Fostering involves more than just providing shelter; it requires offering love, care, patience, and understanding.

The aim is to help nurture a child's potential and assist them in overcoming past challenges.

The Foster with Us hub offers ongoing support, guidance, and information to prospective carers, addressing questions about the application process, training, financial support, and the realities of day-to-day fostering.
