Visitors to the Lake District are racing to visit one of its ‘best kept secrets’ this Christmas.
The Millerbeck Light Railway, found in Staveley-in-Cartmel near Newby Bridge, will be hosting two festive open days on December 7 and 8.
The 7¼" gauge railway only opens a limited number of days every year and so it is always a special occasion whenever it welcomes locals and residents to its grounds.
The next set of open days was only announced this week, though organisers are already seeing a number of spaces being booked up.
The railway often runs four or five passenger trains at the same time, offering a selection of steam, diesel, and electric locomotives, all of which will be specially decorated to fit this festive time of year.
You can book your spot at one or both of the open days by visiting the website here.
