Ulverston is getting ready for the return of one of its most popular events later this month.
The Dickensian Festival, affectionately known as Dick Fest, will be taking place on Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24.

This will provide the usual sort of entertainment that the festival is well known for, including multiple stage shows, roving street performers, hot mulled wine, a town-full of wonderful stalls, and costume parades through the historic streets.
In 2023, the event boasted a record number of visitors, with organisers now hoping that they can repeat the trick as the festival fast approaches its 25th anniversary.
With attendees encouraged to dress up in their finest costumes, performers will include brass bands, singers, magicians, fire-eaters, jugglers, stilt walkers, and a whole lot more - all for free.
The event is managed and operated by an independent local committee of unpaid volunteers on a non-profit making basis, and it is funded by charitable efforts throughout the year.
