Emergency services are currently responding to a crash near the Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal, resulting in a road closure.
Cumbria police said the crash happened on Burton Road, leading to its closure initially from the area around Westmorland General Hospital and the road to Oxenholme to the roundabout by the Asda store.
Cumbria police asked people to avoid the area where possible and that the 'emergency response may take some time'.
Stagecoach said the 41 and 41A bus services are currently unable to serve Westmorland General Hospital 'due to an RTC at the hospital entrance' and that the closest stops are at Asda.
Cumbria police said at 7.06pm that the road is still closed and likely will remain so for a while.
An estimated time of the road reopening is not yet known, they said.
They added that the Northwest Ambulance Service and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service are also present, but were unable speak to the severity of the incident and whether anyone has been taken to hospital.
