Plans to bring a new community centre in Ulverston have been boosted this week after a fundraising goal was met.
In September, The Old Mart Group (OMG) revealed that their offer to buy The Old Mart had been accepted.
This came about through nearly £500,000 worth of support from businesses and the local community, though a further £5,000 was needed for renovations to allow the site to open.

A spokesperson from the group said: "Thank you to everyone who has chipped in, superstars one and all.
"There's a stretch target on there now as the more we have the more we can do by way of renovations so if you still feel like giving us a hand, please do."
The proposed development will welcome various groups through its doors, in the belief that Ulverston is currently lacking a similar space.
