CUMBRIA Police arrested a man after a male sustained ‘serious’ injuries following a stabbing in Kendal town centre.
Armed officers arrested a 22-year-old man after receiving a report from North West Ambulance Service of an assault in Highgate involving a knife on Sunday night.
He was arrested suspicion of causing grevious bodily harm with intent.
A man in his 20s was taken to hospital and is currently in the care of medical experts.
A spokesperson from the police said: “The injuries sustained are serious but not thought to be life-threatening.
“This is an isolated incident with no ongoing risk to the public.”
Officers are currently conducting inquiries in the Kendal area and have warned residents they may see a higher-than-normal police presence.
