A LAKE District road that was closed due to rockfall following Storm Ashley has now reopened.
An emergency closure had been put in place on Thirlmere's West Road, which only reopened in May this year, earlier this week.
Cumberland Council, in collaboration with United Utilities, implemented the closure between Launchy Gill and Rough Crag as of October 21.
A Cumberland Council spokesperson said: "We are very pleased to confirm that Cumberland Council has been able to confirm the state of the land adjacent to the West Road at Thirlmere and that the road has now been re-opened for public use.
“We want to thank you the public for their patience whilst we undertook this essential safety assessment."
