The UK's oldest coffee roastery, John Farrer & Co of Kendal, is launching a new addition to its 'Signature' speciality coffee collection.
The new coffee, Burundi Kibingo Natural, will be available from November 1.
The 'Signature' collection is a range of 'carefully selected' small-batch seasonal single-origin coffees from sustainable farms worldwide.
The collection celebrates the 'very best' coffee grown by small-scale farmers who share the company's 'passion for what they create'.
Each coffee is handpicked by Farrer's roasters to provide customers with access to coffees from 'sought-after' crops.
The latest addition, Burundi Kibingo Natural, is produced by Kibingo Washing Station in northern Burundi.
It is used by 3,515 locally registered coffee growers across 18 hills in the region.
The washing station also acts as a support hub for the farmers associated with it.
Burundi Kibingo Natural will be priced at £12.99 per 250g bag.
Che Oxenham, Farrer's head roaster, said: "Burundi Kibingo scores extremely highly with a coffee cupping score of 84.5.
"I’ve specially selected this particular coffee because of its distinctive and unique flavour profile, which contains flavours of dried cherry and raspberry, with hints of strawberry, citrus and apple, as well as a balanced acidity and a decadent sweetness reminiscent of chocolate cake.
"Each coffee I select is produced by a small-scale producer, who like us, are proud of what they create.
"Each farmer has an interesting back story, they support their local communities and produce their coffees sustainably and responsibly, which is hugely important to us.
"I hope you enjoy Kibingo and I’m looking forward to selecting our next batch of single-origin coffees for you to try in the coming months."
Each Farrer’s Signature coffee is available as a whole bean or pre-ground, packed in a resealable bag, and is available to purchase through Farrer’s website for a limited time only.
