Students from Stagecoach Performing Arts schools in Kendal and Lancaster performed at the Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow.

The youngsters, aged between 11 and 18, were led by an experienced creative team in their eight-minute piece, which comprised singing and dancing to songs themed around magic, including 'Dancing Through Life' from Wicked and 'Spotlight' by Jennifer Hudson.

They also participated in a mass choir performance.

A student who took part in the showcase said: "Performing in a musical theatre showcase in Glasgow is not just about the spotlight.

"It's about sharing our passion, telling stories, and connecting with an audience that inspires us."

The showcase not only provides students with the necessary 'training and diligence' required for a professional performing arts career, but also helps to build their 'creativity and courage', skills that will be beneficial throughout their lives.

A parent of a student said: "Stagecoach is my teenager's happy place.

"Fun, lifelong friendships, confidence building, and a safe space to explore her talents."

Stagecoach Performing Arts principal, Ann-Marie White, said: "We have really enjoyed all the extra rehearsals and there has been a real ‘buzz‘ around the schools in the run-up to this event.

"It is such a wonderful opportunity for all our students to take a piece onto the next level and perform it in such a beautiful and professional theatre is a huge honour.

"This also comes off the back of our celebration of 25 years of Stagecoach Kendal and Lancaster."
