A PENSIONER has denied historical sexual assaults on a child.
Clive Wilson, from Heversham, near Milnthorpe, is charged with indecent assault and gross indecency with a girl under the age in the 1980s.
The 77-year-old indicated his not guilty pleas at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on October 17.
Magistrates declined jurisdiction for summary trial due to having insufficient sentencing powers.
The case has next been listed at Carlisle Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on November 15.
He was granted conditional bail with requirements not to contact the alleged victim or any other child under the age of 16.
