A number of flood warnings have been put in place across the county in the wake of 'heavy rain' and 'thundery downpours'.
According to the Met Office, heavy rain on Wednesday evening may lead to some travel disruption and flooding in place.
There is a slight chance of power cuts and flooding in homes and businesses.
Bus and train services may also be affected. There may be spray and flooding on roads resulting in a few road closures and there is a small chance of fast-flowing or deep floodwater.
Due to weather conditions, flood alerts have been put into place along the coast from Gretna to Silloth, at Barrow-in-Furness, and North Morecambe Bay, on the Upper River Eden, Upper River Lune, Rivers Kent and Bela, and Rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck.

Writing today (Wednesday, October 16) the Environment Agency said: "Localised river and particularly surface water flooding impacts are possible today and into the early hours of Thursday across parts of southern, central, and northern England due to heavy rain and some thundery downpours.
"Localised coastal flooding impacts are probable from Friday to Sunday along parts of the North West and South West of England coasts and possibly more widely along the south coast of England.
"High tide levels from Wednesday through to Saturday may also lead to localised coastal impacts in other places too.
"Land, roads, and some properties may flood and there may be travel disruption."
