An elderly woman was rushed to a South Lakes Café by rescue crews yesterday (October 13) after she suffered a fall at a nearby bay.
Crew members from both Arnside and Flookburgh Bay Search and Rescue (BSAR) were called out to the fallen woman on the shore at White Creek around 1pm.
They also joined two crew from South Lakes coastguard and Dr Andy Barrington from Cumbria’s Beep Doctors.

The woman was transported in the crew's rescue vehicle, the Sherp, to The Bob-In Cafe in Carnforth where she was then stretchered into the warmth of the business' offices.
Her ankle was described as 'badly injured' with medics providing her with a vacuum splint on her lower leg.

A spokesperson for Bay Search & Recue said: "Thanks to Rachel at The Bob-In Cafe for opening up and getting the heating on for us, whilst waiting for North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust who arrived pretty swiftly in the end.
"Great result and great team work from all.
"Remember - if you suspect someone is in difficulty on our coast do not hesitate dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
"Please support BSAR we are a registered Charity and our operational team is completely staffed by highly trained volunteers who give up a huge amount of their time to provide this amazing service."
