THESE are the upcoming roadworks planned for the next weeks, according to the National Highways expected works list. 

One could cause delays of up to 30 minutes, and another could see queues waiting for more than half an hour. 

Three closures are expected to carry on this week, with notes from National Highways: 

• A590, from 6pm October 3 to 11pm October 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, County road, No cway incursion for Fibrus works.

• A590, from 9pm September 23 to 6am October 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Brettargh Holt to Newby Bridge, traffic signals, lane closures and slip road closures for survey works.

• A590, from 9.30am September 2 to 3.30pm October 17, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A590 northbound and southbound, Three bridges Swarthmoor, traffic signals for gas mains replacement.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A590, from 6pm October 7 to 5am October 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound, Backbarrow, traffic Lights for fibrus works.

• M6, from 8pm October 9 to 5am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 35 to 36, Lane closure with switching for structures works.

• A590, from 8pm October 14 to 4pm November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Elliscales Roundabout to High and Low Newton Bypass, Lane one closures and traffic signals for Wildflower cut and collect at all sites.

• A590, from 8pm October 16 to 6am October 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, junction 36 to Brettargh Holt, Lane one closure with convoy working and slip road closures for Installation of new sign faces, verge hardening and road markings.

• A590, from 7am October 18 to 7pm October 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Canal Street, traffic signals for Fibrus works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
