THE COUNCIL has applied to carry out works at Kendal Town Hall in a bid to improve the customer experience for users.

Westmorland and Furness Council has submitted a planning application for listed building consent to carry out ‘minor refurbishment works’ at Kendal Town Hall.

According to planning documents the Bindloss Room will be converted to a council meeting room, acoustic interview pods will be added to the town council chamber and minor changes will be made in reception.

The planning statement says: “This listed building application for minor refurbishment works, complements the existing building and interior design.

“It will provide better spaces for the public accessing Council Services, in turn improving the service provided and the customer experience.”

This comes after the authority carried out extensive refurbishment works to Kendal Town Hall and South Lakeland House in 2021.

This application is undergoing public consultation.
