Rural police in South Lakes pulled over a driver during a routine inspection this morning (October 5) who had a tyre 'worn so badly the cord was exposed.'
The driver was stopped on the outskirts of Kendal just after midnight.
Unit 1 patrol officers conducted a routine check of the vehicle and found the driver had not only committed the traffic offence, but was also found to be in possession of drugs.

Speaking on its Facebook, a spokesperson for South Lakes police said: "Driver issued with a Traffic Offence Report which will result in a fine and penalty points on his driving licence.
"The drug possession is subject to further investigation but likely to result in a formal outcome."
