A FREE bulb planting event is set to take place at Wray Castle estate this autumn to fill the grounds with a stunning array of flowers.

The National Trust 19th century building near Ambleside is hosting the event between October 28 – November 1 between 10am – 1pm.

Striking Camassias, scented Daffodils and common Snowdrop bulbs will all be planted to ensure a spectacular display from February next year through to June.

“Whether you plant one or one hundred, every bulb counts. Tools and gloves will be provided—just wear warm clothing and sturdy footwear.

“We hope you can join us!”

The event is part of the National Trust’s efforts to enhance the grounds for both visitors and wildlife.

Earlier this year, they planted 4,000 regional wildflower plug plants, providing essential food for pollinators and birds.

There is no need to book prior and Wray Castle will provide all of the necessary equipment.
