A popular pub has reopened following a six-figure refurbishment.
The George and Dragon, on Branthwaite Brow, Kendal, closed in August for an 'extensive' revamp, 'significantly upgrading' its facilities.
The investment from Stonegate Group has been used to enhance the pub's offerings while maintaining its 'unique charm'.
The beloved pub now boasts 'vibrant contemporary décor', a new paint job, and a new working bar, with the once-popular back room open to the public once more.
The outdoor drinking area has also been upgraded with 'modern décor', creating an inviting atmosphere for patrons to enjoy a drink.
The George and Dragon is also a hub for sports fans, with Sky Sports and TNT showing a variety of sports, including football, boxing, cricket, and Formula 1.
The front bar area welcomes dogs, making it a popular spot for dog walkers, with Nobles Rest just a short distance away.
The pub also offers a range of no and low-alcohol beverages.
The reopening was celebrated on Friday night with a DJ playing classic tunes for a packed house.
Steve Fletcher, operator of the George and Dragon, said: "We cannot wait to welcome back faces, both old and new, to our improved pub and show everyone the hard work we have been doing behind the scenes.
"We believe the refurbishments have enhanced our warm and welcoming atmosphere while developing the community feel of the pub, which was at the heart of our thoughts during the investment.
"As the oldest Craft Union pub, we are proud that our pub exemplifies what it is to be a part of Craft Union, and we are honoured to be a community pub where everyone in Kendal is welcome to come down and enjoy one of our refreshing beverages at great prices."
The George and Dragon has a busy weekly schedule, including race days on Monday, bingo and karaoke on Thursdays, and free pool on Sunday.
DJs will bring a party atmosphere every Friday and Saturday until 3am, while live sports will be shown throughout the week on the large HD TV screens located in every corner of the pub.
