A man in his nineties has died after a property fire in Cumbria this morning.
Emergency services responded to the incident on Westwood Avenue in Kendal at around 6.55am on Tuesday, September 24.
Police worked alongside Cumbria Fire and Rescue and North West Ambulance staff to respond to the fire.
The man was taken from the property by firefighters and was treated at the scene but was confirmed dead while on the way to hospital, said police.
The police had asked members of the public to stay away from the area whilst they managed the situation.
Joint inquiries are underway involving police and the fire service, though there are said to be no suspicious circumstances at this time.
