People are invited to celebrate the 400th anniversary of George Fox's birth.
The event, 'George Fox at 400', will take place at the Kendal Quaker Meeting House from October 3 to October 5.
George Fox was an early leader of Quakerism, a faith now practised by around 400,000 people worldwide.
The celebration will focus on Fox's influence, the spiritual life of Quakers, and engagement with the world.
The Quakers have been involved in 'peace-making and challenging injustices' for centuries, opposing the slave trade, providing famine relief in Ireland, and driving ambulances in both world wars.
They also served as witnesses at border crossings between Israel and Palestine and as mediators in peace negotiations worldwide.
The Quakers have been active in Kendal and Sedbergh since the 17th century.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and learn more about what they do.
A free talk, 'Fox at 400', with Rex Ambler will take place at 2pm on October 5.
