AN 85-year-old woman has died following a collision on the M6.
Rita Thomas, of Thornton-Cleveleys in Lancashire, was the driver of a Hyundai involved in a collision with a bus on Thursday, September 19 at Junction 37 on the Cumbrian motorway.
Police had earlier said that the driver had been airlifted to hospital with 'serious injuries', however, have now announced that she died in hospital on Friday, September 20.
A passenger in the car was also taken to hospital and remains in a 'stable but serious condition'.
A Cumbria Police spokesperson said: "The driver of the bus was uninjured.
"Police continue to appeal for anyone with information to contact officers.
