A Cumbria-based playground manufacturer has been recognised for its commitment to inclusivity.
Playdale Playgrounds has achieved Level 2 'Disability Confident Employer' status under the UK Government Disability Confident scheme.
The company has progressed from Level 1 'Disability Confident Committed'.
The accreditation recognises Playdale Playgrounds' role in creating an 'inclusive and supportive working environment for all employees, including those with disabilities.'
The company has implemented a range of inclusive recruitment practices, support mechanisms, and policies that ensure individuals with disabilities can 'thrive at every level'.
The UK Government scheme was introduced in 2016 and identifies employers committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Charlie Williams, HR adviser at Playdale, said: "We are incredibly proud to have moved from Level 1 to Level 2 in the Disability Confident scheme.
"At Playdale, we believe in creating an all-inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and succeed, regardless of ability.
"This recognition demonstrates our commitment to becoming a truly inclusive employer for South Cumbria, and we look forward to continuing this journey as we push towards greater diversity and opportunity for all."
As a Disability Confident Employer, Playdale Playgrounds will 'continue to work to remove barriers to employment and progression for disabled individuals, ensuring their workforce reflects the diverse communities they serve'.
The recognition comes during National Inclusion Week 2024.
