A sweet little dog currently in the care of Animal Rescue Cumbria is hoping to find a family to take care of him.

Animal Rescue Cumbria and The Wainwright Shelter take in, rehabilitate and rehome 350 cats and dogs every year. Once a dog has been assessed by the animal care team, they can be advertised for adoption.

He has Congestive Heart Failure, which means his heart is unable to pump an adequate amount of blood around his body.

This leads to an accumulation of fluid which can prohibit the lungs from expanding normally and prevents oxygen from entering the bloodstream.

The condition can present several symptoms such as fainting, difficulty breathing, coughing, fatigue, lack of appetite and more.

Due to his illness, Frankie needs to be given a regular dose of medication.

Animal Rescue Cumbria said: “Frankie is a very sweet boy who is ready to find his forever home.

“Frankie is a very special little soul who has come into our care with congestive heart failure. Despite his condition, he’s full of love and deserves to live out his days in comfort and happiness.

“Our vets have provided him with life-long medication, and we are now looking for a special someone to give him the home he needs.”

He could live in a home with another small, calm, gentle dog but would like to go to a family with no cats or children.

Frankie would also like to find a home with a secure garden for him to ‘potter’ around in.

If you think you could offer Frankie the forever home he deserves, please fill out an adoption inquiry form for Animal Rescue Cumbria.
