Only two houses are left to buy in a new 110-home development in Kendal.
Jones Homes' Stonecross Meadows development off Milnthorpe Road saw construction completed in March.
The developer has built 38 affordable homes for 'low-cost' rent or shared ownership as well as 72 properties for private sale.
As part of the planning agreement for Stonecross Meadows, Jones Homes has provided funding of more than £311,000 for services and infrastructure in the area, including £279,300 towards education and £32,500 for road improvements.
Carol Barlow, sales director for Jones Homes Lancashire, said: "There has been a great deal of interest in the homes at Stonecross Meadows, due mainly to the exceptional location which has attracted both local buyers and home-movers from other parts of the country, so only two now remain to be sold.
"Being situated right on the edge of the Lake District is Kendal’s big draw card, but the excellent road and rail links and attractive town centre are also a major part of its appeal.
"It is this dream combination which explains why the town was recently named by Rightmove as the happiest and coolest place to live in the North West and 14th happiest in the whole country.
"Stonecross Meadows sits at the southern gateway to Kendal, just two miles from the town centre and only seven miles from the M6 so residents here are well placed to enjoy everything the town and the countryside has to offer.
"The homes at Stonecross Meadows have been built with Cumbrian stone, creating an attractive street scene which reflects the traditional style and appearance of existing properties in the area.
"A strong community has formed at the development and it’s been lovely to see how the residents interact and look out for each other."
Among those to have purchased a new home at Stonecross Meadows are avid hikers Rachel and Duncan Nash, who relocated to the area from Guildford in Surrey.
Mrs Nash said: "We enjoy hiking up to Scout Scar, which only takes us 25 minutes from the house and visiting Sizergh Castle which is a National Trust property just south of Kendal, where there are beautiful gardens and a coffee shop.
"Morecambe Bay and the River Kent, which runs through Kendal, are both wonderful places to visit, too."
Mr Nash said: "Trains from Kendal railway station can get you to London in less than three hours, so essentially you could take a day trip there if you wanted to."
The two homes currently available to buy at Stonecross Meadows are the five-bedroom detached Latchford, which looks out onto an 'enviable view' of open fields from the front and the Knightsbridge house styles.
These are priced at £669,995 and £729,995 respectively.
