RESCUE teams were called out to an incident on one of the Lake District's highest pass's to provide urgent medical care to a patient.
The Great North Air Ambulance service and The Langdale Ambleside Rescue Team were called out to an incident yesterday, September 16 at 4:04pm.
The Great North Air Ambulance (GNAAS) said that the Langwathby-based critical care team were diverted to reports an incident on Kirkstone Pass, Cumbria.
A spokesman for the Great North Air Ambulance Service said: "Due to the remote location, Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT) requested GNAAS support to ensure the patient received urgent medical care.
"Within 15 minutes, our team was on scene, providing life-saving treatment to stabilise the patient before airlifting them to hospital.
"Our crew—doctor, paramedic, and pilot—returned to base at 5:49pm."
