Businesses and members of the public are being invited to participate in a community sausage competition.
The 'Sizzle for a Cause' initiative, to mark the 25th anniversary of the current ownership of Dales Traditional Butchers, calls on regional businesses to submit their own sausage flavour ideas, to be voted on by the public.
The competition will raise money for charity.
Kirkby Lonsdale-based Dales Traditional Butchers, which first opened its doors more than one hundred years ago in 1906, was taken over by Mark Duckworth on October 31, 1999.
Mr Duckworth said: "This isn’t just about great food - it's about supporting each other and giving back.
"We're excited to bring the community together in such a deliciously impactful way."
Businesses have until September 29 to submit their flavour ideas.
The best ideas will be put to a public vote from October 15.
The three most popular flavours will then be sold at Dales Traditional Butchers and other shops in the region.
For every kilogram sold of the special sausages, £1 will be donated to the submitting business's chosen charity.
The flavours that sell the most by November 15 will earn an additional £100 for their charity, alongside a special certificate.
Ideas already submitted include a dark bitter chocolate and venison sausage, and a maple syrup and cheese sausage.
