A KENDAL pub is staging a three day ‘tap takeover’ after celebrating their 20th anniversary earlier this month.
The Miles Thompson, in Allhallows Lane, turned 20-years-old on September 5, having first opened as a Wetherspoons chain pub on that date in 2004.
Between September 20 – September 22, the pub will be showcasing ales from two popular local breweries, as well as meeting the brewer events.
The pub will serve 10 different local ales, five each from Kendal-based Hawkshead Brewery and from nearby Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery, based in Kirkby Lonsdale, Carnforth.
All guest ales will be priced at £1.99 a pint, for the birthday event, with a selection of lagers also available at the same price.
Pub manager Cameron Hindle, who has managed the pub for two years, said: “We are looking forward to sharing our 20th birthday celebrations – a significant milestone – with our regular customers and visitors alike, as well as raising funds for a great charity.”
The pub kitchen will also reopen on September 17 (Tuesday), following a complete refurbishment project, where several dishes will be available to sample, including pizza, small plates and wraps.
There will also be a charity raffle and tombola, with all proceeds from donations and fundraising going to Young Lives vs Cancer, Wetherspoon’s charity partner.
