A WOMAN has been sentenced in court for beating an police officer in Kendal.
Shelley Baines, of Broad Ings, Kendal, pleaded guilty at the first opportunity to one count of assault by beating of an emergency worker at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on September 2.
Court documentation shows the 36-year-old assaulted PC Westworth on July 7 this year in Kendal whilst he was acting in the exercise of his function as such a worker
Magistrates said there were ‘insufficient details’ provided by the Crown Prosecution Service for the court to make a compensation order.
As a result, in punishment, they punished Baines by imposing a £200 fine.
She was also told to pay £85 in court costs and an £80 surcharge.
