A VIDEO has emerged showing the extent of flooding at a Lake District park.

Fell Foot, a National Trust park at the southern end of Windermere, had to be closed in the aftermath of Storm Lilian.

The video shared on social media by the National Trust Lake District shows the effects of the storm at the park.

Due to exceptionally high water and strong currents, the park remained closed until today, Tuesday, August 27 and it is set to reopen to the public on Wednesday at 9am.

The gale force winds from Storm Lilian brought down trees, forced trains to be cancelled and caused flooding across south Cumbria.

The storm brought strong winds and heavy rain to Cumbria leading to disruption to travel and infrastructure on Friday morning.
