A well-used ferry in Cumbria has announced it will be operating on reduced hours this bank holiday
Speaking on its Facebook page yesterday (August 23) Windermere Ferry announced the changes due to staffing issues.
The post read: "Due the challenges we've recently faced with securing new crew members to join our team, for us to deliver a safe service for our customers over the Bank Holiday weekend, we must continue to operate condensed hours.

The operating times, based on current weather conditions, are:
Saturday 24 August - 06:50am to 20:00pm
Sunday 25 August - 08:50am to 20:00pm
Monday 26 August - 08:50am to 17:00pm
Tuesday 27 August - 07:50am to 16:00pm.
The ferry team, operated by Westmorland and Furness Council, said: "We kindly ask that you are patient with our crew who are working extended hours to deliver the best service possible.
"Our normal summer timetable will resume on Wednesday 28 August"
