KIRKBIE Kendal School celebrated another year of 'remarkable' GCSE results with some students achieving all grade 9s, the highest possible.
The school said there were 'smiling faces all around' when the students picked up their grades.
Headteacher Mark Harris added: “I want to congratulate all of our Year 11 students whose hard work has paid off and who are picking up their results today. They are a fantastic set of grades and we are incredibly proud of their achievements. This follows some excellent A level results last week and we are looking forward to welcoming lots of these students back into our Sixth Form. As always, this is a team effort between students, parents, teachers and support staff and is the result of five years’ hard work.
"There has been outstanding achievement across the ability range, with a number of students achieving all grade 9s, along with some students who have overcome significant difficulties but who nevertheless have achieved fantastic results.
"Some of these students have achieved these results whilst performing at the highest levels in Sport, Music, Dance and Drama. Their ability to care for each other and organise their time so that they can fit in all of their academic and extra-curricular activities never fails to impress me.”
