A SCHOOL has congratulated its Year 11 students for their GCSE results after making it through a 'very uncertain and challenging period' during Covid.
This year's cohort started their secondary school experience during the pandemic.
Queen Katherine School, on Appleby Road, Kendal, said the students had shown 'incredible resilience and determination to achieve these fantastic results.' The staff were also praised for their 'excellent teaching and support.'
Headteacher Jon Hayes said: "As ever, we are immensely proud of our students’ achievements. With the support of the amazing staff here at QKS, the class of 2024 will be moving on the next stages of their lives, many at our own record-breaking Sixth Form, with not just a great set of exam results, but also a raft of experiences, skills and attributes that will help them for the rest of their lives. Well done to each and every one of them."
Head of Year 11 James Morgan said: "Well done Year 11 for a fantastic set of results! I know how hard you have all worked, and I’m sure you are all so proud to achieved what you all deserve. I’m delighted with the way you have matured, and I hope that with your hard-earned qualifications, you will go on to achieve great things. I wish you all the very best for the future and please keep in touch. Again, very well done!"
