An exhibition celebrating the theme of 'words' through the use of quilting is being staged at Farfield Mill, Sedbergh.
‘Words: A series of Journal Quilts’, an exhibition by Contemporary Quilt Group, includes ‘Quilt Journals’ from 26 different textile artists from around the UK.
The diverse work on show includes printed, appliqued, painted and embroidered text.
Some works do not include text but instead take inspiration from words in the form of a favourite book or poem.
Exhibiting artist, Anna Owen, spoke of her work ‘Dialect’. She said: "This work is about recognising my own voice as an artist, celebrating the diversity of dialect.”
The Contemporary Quilt Group is a specialist group within the Quilters’ Guild.
Its mission is to continue to push the boundaries and be excited by the possibilities of new materials, new techniques and new ideas.
The exhibition runs until September 15.
