Coniston Mountain Rescue Team were called out to assist a crashed mountain biker.
North West Ambulance alerted the team to the incident which occurred in Grizedale Forest on Saturday August 3.
Two Land Rovers were deployed plus two local members and the team was able to drive right to the scene.
The man had crashed his mountain bike on one of the bigger tracks in the woods and the team suspected that he had a few broken bones.
He was in a lot of pain so, after assessment and pain relief, the team requested assistance from the Helimed air ambulance.
The man was placed on a stretcher and driven out of the forest to a nearby field where Helimed 72 from Manchester could land and fly him to Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment.
The team was called out to attend incident number 47 of 2024 at 2:36pm, shortly after concluding with an incident earlier in the day.

The callout to Grizedale Forest was their third call-out in 24 hours.
It was attended by 14 volunteer team members and lasted for three hours and 15 minutes.
