A WILDLIFE photographer from Kendal has captured footage of salmon leaping up the River Kent from Morecambe Bay.

Factory worker Daniel Toal, 31, captured the salmon making their way from Morecambe Bay to their spawning ground.

He said: "If you stand there long enough you can see it." Daniel waited at Force Falls near Sedgwick for two hours to get the footage.

"I'm pleased with it," he said. "I went down with the intention of doing that - I'm happy with what I recorded."

Daniel was into wildlife and the outdoors when he was a child, and then got back into it through photography when he was an adult.

When asked if he thought that people in the area appreciated the nature they have got, he said: "I think some people do. More people could appreciate what what have actually got here. I think more people could actually get into natural and look after it - especially the river."

He used a Nikon 262 with a 150-600mm lens to get the shots.
