A hotel has rounded up some summer activities on offer in the surrounding area.
Castle Green Hotel, in Kendal, shared the ideas as it prepares to take bookings for the summer months.
Itinerary ideas include exploring Raines Hall Farm, home to Lakeland Maze Farm Park; stepping back in time at the medieval manor of Sizergh Castle and Garden; enjoying cinema, live music, theatre, and more at social hub Brewery Arts; and getting adventurous at Lakeland Climbing Centre.
The nautically inclined may wish to hire a boat and explore Lake Windermere, while other suggestions include South Lakes Safari Zoo, and the World of Beatrix Potter.
Castle Green Hotel highlighted a number of experiences throughout Cumbria more widely.
The Rydal Sheepdog Trials and Hound Show will take place on August 15, hosted in Rydal Park just outside Ambleside.
The Gosforth Agricultural Show on Saturday, August 17 is a traditional show of competitions for horses, cattle, sheep, dogs, poultry, handicrafts, horticulture, Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling, children's sports, tug of war and more.
Meanwhile, E-Bike Safaris offer recommended routes and deliver their bikes direct to the hotel, offering a fun and easy way to explore attractions, cafés, shops, and restaurants in the surrounding area.
Each bike comes equipped with panniers for shopping, extra clothing, or packed lunches, too, as well as a phone mount.
Castle Green Hotel provides a range of room options, and more information can be found at https://www.castlegreenhotel.co.uk/.
